Purpose of Home Appraisals?

Residential home appraisals are important for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, they provide an unbiased, third-party opinion of the value of a home. This is important for buyers, sellers, and lenders alike, as it helps to ensure that the price of a home is fair and accurate.

Additionally, residential home appraisals are often required by lenders as part of the loan approval process. Lenders want to make sure that the value of the home being purchased is equal to or greater than the amount of money they are lending to the borrower. This protects the lender’s investment in the event that the borrower defaults on the loan. In addition to providing security for the lender, a residential home appraisal can also help the borrower by providing them with a clear understanding of the value of the home they are purchasing. This can help the borrower to negotiate a fair price and avoid overpaying for a home.
